SCREENS
THE AUTHORS SCREEN
While on the TITLES Screen, you may switch to the AUTHORS
Screen by pressing the {F7} key. You will switch to a
three-window display, with the Authors on the left, the
first twelve Titles by each author in the center, and the
screen numbers on the right. You may then scroll to any
author, or type in the author's name and then use the
right {ARROW KEY} to switch to the Titles Window, scroll
to a desired title, and then press the {ENTER} key. You will
see the text of the work you chose.
Pressing {F7} from the AUTHORS Screen switches you back to
the original Titles display.
Screen Markers
When you are viewing any screen of any work, two numbers
will appear in the upper right hand corner, e. g. 10:245.
The number 10 means that you are on the 10th screen of the
work. The number 245 means that there are a total of 245
screens in that particular work.
Approximate File Marker
On the right side of the TITLES Screen and each section of
the AUTHORS Screen, you will notice a small gray or black
bar. This is the file marker and it will show
approximately where you are in any file. As you scroll
through the titles, the file marker will indicate the
approximate point you are in the file using the top of the
screen to represent the beginning of the file and the bottom
of the screen to represent the end. The file marker also
appears as a white bar on each Text Screen. It indicates
your position in any work.
THE Screen WINDOW
While on the TITLES Screen, you will see a long, narrow
window on the right-hand side of the screen with "Screen"
printed at the top. If you have conducted a word search, the
numbers in this window show which screens in the highlighted
title contain the word or words you are looking for.
HOW TO USE THE Screen WINDOW
Use the right {ARROW KEY} to move to the Screen Window
(The selected window will be highlighted). At this point,
you may simply type in the screen number you wish to see
or use the {ARROW KEYS}, {PgUp}, {PgDn}, {HOME}, and {END}
keys to move to the screen number you wish and then press
{ENTER}. When you are finished, use the left {ARROW KEY}
to move back to the Title Window.
Please note that if you have not selected any words or
phrases, the Screen Window will show ALL screen numbers
for the highlighted title.
